Color it New, says the Hawaiian-born beauty, will change people's fashion closets forever. But what isColor it New? That's what we attempt to find out!
How did the idea for Color it New originate?
I was constantly facing a particular fashion dilemma and realized that if I was having this challenge, that millions of other people probably were too. I looked for a solution already on the market and couldn't find one, so decided to develop a product myself. After almost four years of research and development later, Color It New is ready to be shared with the world!
Are you finding that your 'celebrity' is helping bring awareness to the brand?
Absolutely. One of the toughest (and most costly) areas for a startup is getting great press, and I have been lucky enough to actually have some incredible press opportunities prior to the launch because of my acting career. I'm excited for the big reveal in a few weeks and the press coverage that is set to go along with that.
What does your role as CEO entail?
I'm not really sure what it doesn't entail during this start up phase (laughs)! I am overseeing everything from product sourcing and manufacturing to marketing and media. It's definitely a few full time jobs rolled into one— I'm working around the clock.
Does this mean you're leaving acting behind – or will you juggle both roles?
I've been able to juggle both so far, so we shall see! I plan to bring some really great people on board in short order after the launch, so that should allow me to give my acting career the time it needs as well as work on some additional business ideas I have.
